Positions start in mid-September 2017 and last for 12 months. All positions are 35-37 hours per week. Ameri Corps Housing Support Specialists assist individuals and families to sustain their current housing and serve community members who are without housing by linking them with resources and providing support. Each year 1000s of hours are supported in most every department from administrative functions, to coordinating Ani Meals, to events and camp supervisors and more! This role is an ideal position for an individual with a background in high volume recruiting, preferably with an emphasis on a volunteer/ non-profit base. The selected candidate will have the opportunity, alongside the Manager of Volunteer Services,
to devise Center strategies to recruit, recognize, and retain our volunteers. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITES: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting volunteers for all Center events requiring less than 50 volunteers, and supporting the recruitment of our largest events and assist the Manager at these events.
This role is also responsible for recruiting junior volunteers for camp and events held throughout the year. The Volunteer Coordinator will also be responsible for providing clerical support for the Volunteer Service Department. Some tasks include: coordinating with Center departments for scheduling needs, reviewing and processing applications, organizing and delivering
orientation to onboarding volunteer staff, maintaining HWAC's Salesforce database and assisting in recognition efforts for Volunteers.
Other requirements include: 2+ years' experience in volunteer recruitment 1+ years' experience with Salesforce preferable Strong understanding of Word, Excel, Power Point as well as the ability to type 40 wpm Attention to details, well-organized, and a planner. Proven time management skills and balancing multiple tasks simultaneously Solutions/results oriented and passionate about meeting individual and team goals Occasional driving duties may be required in this role.
