Residents currently enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited residency training programs and who would otherwise meet the basic requirements for appointment are eligible to be appointed as " Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs). PRPs must be fully licensed physicians (i. e. not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basis. PRPs are not considered independent practitioners and will not be privileged; rather, they are to have a " scope of practice" that allows them to perform certain restricted duties under supervision.
Additionally, surgery residents in gap years may also be appointed as PRPs. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Additional Requirement: Buprenorphine prescribing Preferred Experience: Board certification, Enrollment in the VHA Clozapine Registry, and Ability to use tele-mental health equipment. Comfort with initiation and management of buprenorphine, naltrexone, and other modalities of MAT treatment for OUD, AUD, and other substance use disorders. Comfort with medical management of withdrawal states in ambulatory setting.

The Department is seeking a Vascular Surgeon interested in resident education to join and become an integral member of the vascular team. The surgeon would be appointed to the Department of Surgery with responsibilities relating to serving as a faculty member, traditional inpatient and outpatient services in the elective, urgent, and emergent care of the vascular patient, teaching, and on-call coverage.
The Department also hosts a General Surgery and Surgical Podiatry Residency Program and provides supervision to resident rotators in surgery. The Department hosts a fully accredited ACGME General Surgery Residency Program. The surgery department is seeking a clinical based vascular surgeon.
General summary of clinical practice entails staffing of outpatient clinic, open vascular surgery, endovascular interventions, and vein ablations. The preferred candidate must be board certified/eligible in Vascular Surgery.

Extensive training and experience may satisfy either board requirement.
