Primary Duties Work with product line managers and purchasing to aid in the development of product utilizing reverse engineering best practices. Produce product documentation that
sufficiently identifies product dimensional and performance requirements. Direct, coordinate, or fabricate prototype product samples and test equipment builds. Confer with the product team to prepare and implement design modifications and manage changes.
Manage the requirements for PPAP and review accompanying documentation. Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional, reliability and quality requirements. Interpret process certifications and flow charts to identify process weaknesses and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Create and maintain the requirements for incoming and source inspection processes. Evaluate product warranty information, root cause
quality concerns and implement design/process improvements. Qualifications Technical degree (BS) in mechanical engineering with 3+ years of experience; or Associate degree with 5+ years of experience Reverse engineering and/or product development experience Thorough knowledge of Solid Works or other CAD software Thorough knowledge of GD&T drafting techniques Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Access Knowledge of EPDM or other PDM software Project Management experience Understanding of manufacturing capabilities; i.

As the successful candidate, you will: Lead a group of junior electrical engineers to develop traction power design packages Design traction power substations, feeder and equipment sizing, site plans, duct bank and conduit layouts, grounding systems, and auxiliary power supply systems and control circuits Coordinate with other engineers for systems integration and design Perform load flow simulations and prepare reports Develop documents including specifications, drawings and cost estimates Review project submittals and requests for information from contractors Provide installation, testing and commissioning support to clients Management of traction power projects You bring to the role: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering 15 to 25 years of experience with dc traction power systems design, including the design of 600 to 1500 Volt dc rail transit traction power substations, ac and dc switchgear, transformers, rectifiers, and controls Working knowledge of NFPA 70 is required and thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes Professional engineer’s license or engineer-in-training certificate is an advantage Experience with the North American transit/transportation industry is highly desirable Relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for degree requirements The following skills/experience is a plus: Load flow simulation software Knowledge of power systems analysis Experience in factory testing, field testing and commissioning of traction power equipment Experience in protective relaying Experience in medium voltage switchgear application-design and specification Knowledge of railway overhead catenary/third rail distribution systems Project management experience Management experience Why join us?
