Position Overview A Quality Control Intern will be given the opportunity to work with a vertically integrated company and experience multiple aspects of customer specification requirements in construction management as well as other lines of business.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Skills and Development during Internship: Receive detailed understanding of the HMA production processes. Learn Quality Control methods and reporting procedures. Learn entire paving process and density control. Work with QC Technicians to

further understand smoothness determinations and IRI reporting. Learn how to conduct and test equipment calibrations. Work to understand aggregate processing and quality conformance.

Assist with testing materials in a safe, efficient, and productive manner. Identify and become familiar with various mix specifications requirements. Test materials to determine specific requirements such as weight, gravity, temperature, thickness, and gradation of mix components. Communicate with other technicians regarding mix specifications and test results. Input test result data into computers in laboratories and remote locations. Communicate and assist paving personnel in adjusting processes to conform

to specifications. Report and communicate test results ethically, adhering to the companies Ethics Policy.

Other Requirements: Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
