Speedway is seeking a seasonal employee with maintenance technical expertise to provide services within the Emergency Services Department. This is a part time event staff position with hours which will vary greatly from week to week and requires very flexible availability.
JOB SUMMARYEmployee is responsible for making minor repairs, equipment installations, facility upgrades and completing miscellaneous duties on an as needed basis within the Emergency Services Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS General facility repair work, painting and cleaning as needed. Assist/Manage small construction and renovation projects and repairs. Perform routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs
or fluorescent lamps and assists in repairing ballast and light fixtures.
Perform quality work with deadlines with or without direct supervision. Uses hand and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs as requested. OTHER DUTIES Employee may be required to assist in equipment inspection duties and fire preventative programs on property. ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTSHours will vary but will include all hours the office is open, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary to attend events and to fulfill job responsibilities. The ideal candidate would have a flexible schedule without the need for full time hours. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Professional: Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials necessary for plumbing, painting, and electrical trades, as well as good troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to work with others to facilitate project completion. Projects a professional company image though verbal and written communication. Presents self in a professional manner and have ability to interact with all levels of organization internal and external. Knowledge of public safety functions and duties would be beneficial but are not required. Interpersonal Skills: Listens to others, ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively, responds to manager's instructions and accepts feedback. Personal: Project a positive image to internal (employees) and external (fans, vendor, other sports professionals, and community members) customers, communicate effectively and professionally at all times.
Comfort and experience in coordinating projects from onset to completion and providing updates on progress. Dependable transportation to and from work is required. WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be at times be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Speedway is seeking seasonal employees with cable-based TV expertise and IPTV network infrastructure repair skills that will interact with our guests and participants during racing events and onsite special events.
JOB SUMMARY Inspect, repair, support, and manage cable TV and IPTV infrastructure and provide guest support for Daytona Intl. Speedway related events. This includes large spectator events and track rental support through out the year. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Work closely with the DIS Operations, Venue Technology Manager, and Special Event teams on upcoming events. Manage cable TV and IPTV infrastructure in fan areas to include the Fan Zone, D500 Club, Garage areas, as well as
with special events held in the DIS Stadium and Hall of Fame.
Be available to support Cable TV and IPTV issues during all major events at DIS. Assist the Event Operations team as need to support events. Assist partners and sponsors with necessary cable TV upgrades, add-ons, and any necessary troubleshooting. Maintain inventory of support equipment; backss existing equipment and make recommendations for replacement and upgrades. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. OTHER DUTIES Be a team player, helping others whenever assistance is needed. Provide back up support for PA and AV Departments as needed.
