A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKER Job Summary The purpose of this class within the organization is to perform oversite of the athletics programming by managing and coordinating the athletic fields rentals, agreements and field maintenance and many other related tasks.

Essential Functions: Performs all supervisory responsibilities for athletic attendants; hiring, leading, supporting, coaching, performance reviews, manages payroll. Manages and coordinates athletic field rentals, large athletic events, tournaments and daily field use. Prepares invoices and agreements for athletic field user groups. Coordinates field preparations with parks division, athletic attendants in alignment with scheduled field usage. Operate and maintain information on the recreation management software and Musco Lighting system.

Verifies field conditions and playability, providing update to weather hotline and other stakeholders. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PART-TIME FACILITY ATTENDANT Job Summary The purpose of th is class within the organization is to m onitor activities and perform services at the Pearland RCN to prevent accidents , provide assistance to customers , and maintain

the operations of the facility. The facility attendant is r esponsible for the day-to-day operation of the RCN in the absence of full-time managing staff.

This class works under close supervision according to set procedures. Essential Functions Supervise s the conduct and behavior of all members and guests that occupy the building to ensure their safety, health, and wellness as well as others. Read s the Facility Attendant binder, specifically the communication log in order to know all current information pertaining to the facility prior to the start of their shift. Prepare s the facility for opening day, all classes, reservations, activities, programs and events as well as closing facility at the end of the night.

Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with the Parks & Recreation core values. Opens and closes facility. Inspect s the facility every half hour for safety concerns, maintenance issues and cleanliness. Document s all necessary situations with factual information , such as incidents, injuries, building leaks, etc. and report to the proper full-time staff. Performs some custodial duties. Restocks supplies and inventory. Additional Duties : Act s as the employee fill-in when RCN part time employees do not show up for scheduled shifts and contract addition staff to cover as needed.

Assist s in Kids Korner or at Kiosk to help provide support and assistance during busy times in each area. Adhere s to department established behavior policy. Essential Functions Monitors the activities of contracted, independent instructors, officials, rentals, and volunteers. Provides assistant and information to participants, spectators, umpires, and citizens regarding recreation programs and parks. Logs daily visitation. Evaluates participant needs and interest and makes recommendations; responds to customer and public inquiries, concerns and complaints. Assists with administrative duties at the front desk; answers phone calls, sells and renews memberships, gives tours. Cleans and maintains facilities when necessary.

Locks and secures building, recreation areas including fields at the end of the day. Additional Duties : Prepares for events by assisting in event set-up; participates in event tear down. Oversees daily use and special events of the Natatorium by department staff, schools, military, community organizations and clubs. Patrols facilities to detect damage to facilities and report damages to appropriate authority. Assists with filtration system operation, maintenance and repair.
