Sample and perform p H, TA, brix, and nutritional analysis on grape juice and fermenting juice Sample and perform various analyses on bottled wine and wines in storage Operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment such as gas chromatography, CO2 analyzer, alcolyzer, spectrophotometer, autotitrator, chemistry analyzer Operate, maintain and troubleshoot more advanced lab equipment such as GCMS, HPLC and ICP Participate in method research, development and validation Participate in training and leadership of laboratory staff Perform benchtop trials as directed by
winemaking Review and assist with scheduling of lab analysis based on winemaking work orders Chemical preparation (acids, bases, buffers, reference standards) Generate, update and review laboratory work instructions and other documentation Familiarity and compliance with ISO Quality System, including ISO Food Safety & Quality Policy Food Safety Responsibility: Report problems with the food safety system to supervisor Work efficiently and proficiently in all aspects of the laboratory Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in the sciences; Enology courses, familiarity with winemaking a plus Years of Experience: Three or more years in similar position in a lab environment Knowledge of wine
processing and standard lab practices Ability to take direction, communicate effectively and work well with a team Excellent observation, attention to detail and analytical skills Lab related computer skills (Excel, Word, Wi PS and LIMS) Flexibility to respond to frequently changing production demands and deadlines Valid California Driver’s license and clean DMV report Working Conditions: Moderate physical work with some outdoor exposure Extensive walking and lifting of up to 55 pounds Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilities Working various shifts including early morning, swing, and graveyard Long and irregular hours during peak periods Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day) Comply with all PPE requirements including lab coat, footwear, ear plugs and safety glasses Exposure to various chemicals, forklifts, machinery and moving parts in lab and production areas Salary Range: $28.80 - $35.20 The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
