Environmental Scientist or Engineer II

Description Under general supervision, provides technical support and guidance for Environmental projects and programs at

assigned site. Installs, operates, and maintains environmental and emission monitoring instruments and testing equipment; analyzes data for compliance with regulatory requirements Evaluates and backsses environmental risk and develops programs for risk reduction Collaborates in recommending appropriate action to management in compliance with regulations Reviews and/or prepares and maintains detailed records and files of environmental data and communications Evaluates and administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment Maintains basic working knowledge of national, regional and local environmental, occupational health, and other applicable regulations Maintains knowledge

of site environmental policies and procedures May provide leadership to less experienced Engineers and Technicians May serve as Project Manager or technical expert on small to medium-sized environmental projects (e.

g. compliance, remediation, or reclamation) Leads or participates in regular audits and inspections of operations areas for purposes of ensuring compliance with site environmental policies, procedures and requirements of the Environmental Management System Coordinates the timely recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets in compliance with applicable legal and other requirements Tracks and reports the recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets as directed Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Environmental Scientist II: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Earth Science or related natural science (such as Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Hydrology, Forestry, Agriculture, Meteorology, Environmental/Natural Resource Management) or Mathematics/Computer Science including Accounting and Finance, or, Business Management or other Bachelor’s degree, and at least three (3) years environmental or related experience, OR Master’s degree in a related field and at least one (1) year environmental or related experience.

OR Environmental Engineer II: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Agricultural, Mining, Metallurgical, Geological or similar) and at least three (3) years environmental or related experience, OR Master’s degree in Engineering in a related field and at least one (1) year environmental or related experience. Applies to both positions above: Additional certification or licensure appropriate to the job may be required or preferred: (US Examples include: HAZWOPER, Method 9, DOT, EMS Auditor, Asbestos, Water Treatment Operator, or CHMM.

This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions.

Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
