A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT GEOLOGIST / PROJECT ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST As a project-level professional, you are the engine of our business. Your hard work ensures that we deliver for our clients. Under the supervision of the Elko Office Manager, you will: Prepare and review of work plans, technical documents, and reports for federal, state, and local regulatory agencies Prepare and review of new clientele proposals for federal, state, and local regulatory agencies Develop the scope of environmental backssment and remediation projects from our diverse portfolio and manage them within budget Conduct regular field visits to drive project execution and ensure that appropriate health and safety procedures are being followed Review and approve supplier work proposals and invoices Write project reports, analyze, and interpret data, and prepare final reports to be submitted to our Principal Geologist and clients Your people skills are essential as you interact regularly with local and national clientele as well as regulatory agencies.

Though you do spend a lot of time visiting job sites and interacting with people, you also make sure to keep up on all your administrative responsibilities.

Ensuring that clients are happy as well as that all jobs are delivered on-time, within the scope, and on-budget gives you a great sense of accomplishment! MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or related field Five or More years of experience in geological backssments, water supply, water treatment, environmental backssments, contaminant investigation, contaminant remediation, storm water management, wastewater treatment, permitting projects, or compliance projects in the public and private sectors Consulting experience Strong working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and experience interacting with governmental regulatory agencies Demonstrated ability to properly manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring compliance with deliverable timelines Professional Registration/Certification or ability to attain within two years of hire Ability to travel within the western regional US DESIRED QUALITIES: Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of the consulting business Strong commitment to Safety and staff development Possess ability to effectively manage personnel and administrative functions Advanced technical capabilities associated with the specific field of expertise Motivated self-starter and ability to perform periodic field work Strong problem solving, research, and communication skills Ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with site operations Willingness to conduct Business Development activities Technical writing competency and computer literacy In-depth experience with service line specific cost projections, budget preparation and tracking Ability to work individually and as a team member Are you detail-oriented?
