will be cycling through our surgical rotation so surgery skills are a must! What you will do! In this Clinical Veterinarian role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations of the surgical program; supervision of the surgical vet techs as well as intermediate and advanced ability to assist and perform surgical procedures. In collaboration with other staff members, the IACUC and the IACUC Office administration, you will contribute substantially to the institution’s comprehensive program to provide humane care and use of research animals and help to assure compliance and serve as a voting member of the IACUC. Who are we looking for? A candidate that possesses a DVM or a certificate of training accepted by the AVMA.
Must have exposure to field of Laboratory Animal medicine; and participation in 2-5 externships during veterinary school or employment at an institution with a laboratory animal facility required. In addition, at least 1-2 years of experience with surgery and anesthesia in USDA covered species. Must have Licensure to practice vet medicine in a least 1 U. S. state. The pay range for this position is $145,000 - $160,000 USD annually.
