Note: This is an unpaid externship and rabies vaccinations are required unless your school's rabies mitigation policy allows you to be unvaccinated

and still handle unvaccinated pets. Equestrian Center (UFVH at WEC) is seeking applicants for a small animal urgent care veterinarian. The hospital is a 40,000 square foot newly built hospital at the World Equestrian Center (WEC), a high profile 300-acre equine facility in Ocala, 30 minutes south of Gainesville.

The successful candidates will provide urgent care for small animal patients, with a large adjacent caseload originating from the thousands of visitors to the WEC events and the rapidly growing greater Ocala area. The hospital is fully equipped including operating room, in-house laboratory, oxygen cages, ultrasound, advanced anesthesia and monitoring tools and state of the art dentistry equipment. The hospital is

staffed by veterinary technicians overnight allowing you to hospitalize patients under supervision, your patients will also have easy access to UF PETS - our full-service emergency practice in Ocala.

Duties will be focused on the provision of patient care during daytime or swing shifts dependent on assignment, with weekend coverage. Veterinarians will be expected to participate in clinical teaching for veterinary students. Gainesville and Ocala are located in north central Florida; there are many opportunities for outdoor recreation including close proximity to beautiful beaches, Gulf Coast fishing towns, crystal clear warm water springs and unique wildlife.
