Job Description To lead the development, implementation, continuous improvement and execution of Kinross inventory control and planning strategy, policies and guidelines to drive shared goals and objectives across the entire Supply Chain specifically for inventory planning, cataloguing activities, stocktaking, QA/QC and working capital optimization.
Coordinate and supervise the secure operation of the Warehouse and lead the day-to-day activities of assigned staff in the receiving, binning, issuing, stocktaking and dispatch of all items and associated tasks that exists within the operation/location. Oversee
all Tasiast inventory-planning activities, responsible to ensure the correct levels of stock are in place, obsolete and excess stock management are completed in a safe and consistent manner, and in compliance with Company procedures and policies.
Communicates inventory control and planning vision and builds strong working relationships with internal clients. Enhance Kinross overall inventory control and planning capability through continuous improvement and development of the organization. Promote and ensure that all HSE requirements are considered and implemented in all the aspects of the duty performed. Maximize use of environmental friendly and recyclable products where possible.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the Inventory & Warehouse Manager is responsible to provide technical inventory management, analytics, cataloguing, cross-functional reporting and JDE Business Process support across Supply Chain Management. The Inventory & Warehouse Manager has to ensure that warehousing services are provided to the Company with a good service level, and ensure that all associated functions are carried out in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. This position will act as a key point of contact for User groups requiring inventory support, reporting queries and will champion system Business Processes for Supply Chain.
Job Responsibilities 1. Develops, recommends, continuously improves and implements programs to enhance working relationships and communication processes to ensure achievement of leading practice inventory control, planning processes and warehouse management. Ensure teams share leading practices and lessons learned, use consistent methodologies, and pursue deliverables that are aligned with corporate strategic objectives. Coach and provide periodic informal and formal performance feedback to direct reports.
Recognized as an expert in Inventory and forecast accuracy optimization. Helps set global inventory planning strategy and supports regional inventory optimization on a continuous basis. Direct experience overseeing or managing regional and global inventory performance optimization, item stratification and distribution network optimization. Control 3rd party contractor inventory planning performance and ensures alignment to company inventory planning service levels. Identifies opportunities to reduce total costs based on better planning and management of inventory and drives inventory control standards throughout the organization, resolves issues in areas of collaboration with other supply chain system processes, and defines the process methodology in alignment with corporate guidance.
Implements demand forecasting concepts and can utilize available inventory control tools. Can lead conversations and provide a point of view on how to forecast the materials demand in order to replenish warehouse areas and inventory as well as meet the demands of operational activities. Understands procurement activities required to match supply with demand. Ensures standardized SCM materials data (Item Names, Item Descriptions, Group Class codes, and colloquials) and implement governance to improve and preserve data quality on an ongoing basis.
Review new stock and insure that all are under control related to PIPO (Phase In and Phase Out). Maintain catalogue to ensure all information is kept current and relevant, identify duplications, assist with obsolete, and overstock stock removal. Prioritize work amongst the team and provides analysis and mitigation strategies for high value and high risk inventory categories. Ensures that a statistical forecast for critical and non-critical 'predictable' materials are generated and communicated to end-users for making appropriate adjustments to mine and maintenance plans and are consolidated with materials requests into a single inventory/materials plan.
2. Manage Bulk Commodities and other critical cost driver commodities to ensure stock is replenished, scheduled, forecast, planned and delivered to Site in accordance with usage demand profiles and site storage considerations. Makes recommendations on processes improvement with broad use of external knowledge and practices. Consulted as leading authority, recognized by Kinross, as well as by industry peers in the area of inventory control, materials planning and warehouse management.
Defines inventory management practices including Lead Time Management Reduction, Vendor Managed Inventory, Database Standardization and Product Obsolescence Management. Design and implement relevant strategies relating to inventory and catalogue management, demand planning and profiling, bulk commodity and repairable item management. Provides specialized analytical approaches that customize planning processes and parameters to support service levels and operational goals. Accountable for warranty repair activities that fall under the remit of supply chain in the regions.
Collaborates with maintenance to ensure accurate planning and tracking is in place. Standardizes consistent repair activities and provides overall W&R guidance from a Kinross commercial perspective to end-users and suppliers. 3. Manage the disposal process of obsolete and surplus inventory and equipment. Liaise with End-Users, Finance and Warehouse operations to identify, tag, tender, bid, award contracts and ensure surplus assets are disposed off in a timely manner with consideration for asset re-deployment to other Kinross Operations.
Manage the addition of new items to the inventory catalogue through collaboration with Operations and Maintenance ensuring a risk based backssment is conducted to analyze and determine stocking levels. Ensure all items are counted at least once every financial and calendar year. Coordinate & initiate cycle counts in conjunction with Warehouse Supervisors. Allocate resources to ensure all stock items are counted in according to Kinross standards and procedures. Coordinate with Inventory Controller stocktakes to identify any variances between physical and recorded stock levels, identify root cause to stock discrepancies, and put mitigations “controls” in place.
Liaise with Sourcing & Manager and Expeditors for timely and secure deliveries to and from site. Coordinate Purchasing & Contract Manager and Expeditors return of rotable stock to the warehouse and for transport off site for repair. Coordinate reception, storage, movement and distribution of goods in the warehouse. Assists with unpacking, sorting and checking of goods received for quality, type, and quantity. Resolve problems in relation to the delivery of materials (Packing, non-conformance…).
Liaise with internal customers on storage and transport requirements. Investigate all invoice discrepancies relating to receipting issues (mismatches). Coordinate issue of stores in compliance with approved “requests”. 4. Ensure all goods are issued correctly and discrepancies are investigated in a timely manner. Ensure warehouse, yard & surrounding areas are maintained in a neat and tidy condition at all times. Implementing improvements to warehouse processes as identified. Ensure all additional storage facilities are maintained in a good condition. Ensure that delivery vehicles and handling equipment and materials are not misused.
Develops and documents operational risk mitigation and contingency management plans. Insuring that all stock items are handled with Kinross requirements, and safety standards and are maintain in their optimal conditions before usage. Insure that all procedure are available, known and implemented and maintain compliance with Supply Chain procedures including the security of all assets. Identity skill set gaps within the team, determine the methodology to address the gaps and ensure the subsequent execution of training and development plans. Develop skills and abilities of direct and indirect reports through ongoing performance measurement and feedback.
Provide career guidance and act as a champion and mentor for all resources in the supply chain organization. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE / FORKLIFT OPERATOR As a Warehouse Associate / Forklift Operator, you play a vital part in helping our HVAC company operate efficiently. You keep inventory stocked and well-organized. Using your attentiveness to detail, you handle inbound merchandise, read orders, and pull parts for jobs. You also pick up and deliver materials from job sites, vendors, and supply houses as needed. To keep everything running smoothly, you promptly and accurately update logs and documentation for inventory processing. With safety at the forefront of your mind, you use a forklift or pallet jack to move HVAC materials across the facility.
You also ensure that the warehouse is safe and accessible for associates by keeping things tidy and well maintained. You are an effective worker because you're both self-motivated and a team player. You always take care of your responsibilities without being prompted by leadership. You also work well with others as you communicate with fellow employees and report inventory issues to your supervisor. Contributing to the success of your team and playing an important role in providing high-quality results for our customers gives you a great sense of fulfillment!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE / FORKLIFT OPERATOR High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Ability to operate a forklift or pallet jack Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job Ability to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing Experience pulling a trailer is preferred but not required.
