Overview & Responsibilities: The position of Warehouse Supervisor/Buyer is responsible for purchasing goods for inventory, receiving, maintaining, and distributing appropriate warehouse inventory to meet needs of production, construction, and repair operations at least cost of inputs by working as a key partner with the operational managers and staff.
Major Areas of Accountability: GENERAL Responsible for an in-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, customer requirements and vendor capabilities. Maintain and update Inventory Software - Subject Matter Expert (SME) -update items, create new items, inventory module, pricing, and other P2P functionality for the warehouse. Provide vigilant
oversight of company spend to ensure protection of company assets.
Execute category management on M&R supplies to maximize TCO for CF. Train peers and subordinates. Identify opportunities and bring forth solutions to take advantage of opportunities. Ensure safety procedures are followed and adhered to. INVENTORY-WAREHOUSE Maintain proper handling and storage of products to ensure product integrity and value. Perform receipt of goods in such a way that ensures we are paying for what we received, and the products are properly stored to ensure maximum asset utilization. Monitor inventory levels to control shrink, shortage and obsolescence. Set and modify reorder points to efficiently execute the ordering/purchasing process.
Manage inventory to meet yearly inventory turns/value goals, maintain safety stock, and effectively utilize working capital. Communicate with production managers, construction department, supply chain and repair staff to anticipate needs. Supervise and direct local warehouse staff. Facilitate housekeeping functions that provide a safe environment and maximize the utilization of CF assets. Manage and support branch warehouse operations. Ensure accurate documentation and data entry of inventory movement. Perform monthly and annual physical counts; reconcile warehouse inventory variances.
Responsible for monthly period end reporting of CF non-feed inventory as assigned. Identify, develop, and contribute to implementation of improvements. Identify and secure outlets for obsolete inventory. PURCHASING Responsible for purchasing inventory, production, capital, and repair operations products. Purchase products and supplies that meet operational needs at best price/service. Take advantage of special purchases (volume, short-dated product, promotions, etc. ). Source products for inventory, production managers, and sites.
Develop and maintain vendor relationships for best pricing, options, and to attain highest value. Perform supplier relationship management and score carding process to ensure proper relationship execution. Ensure supplier commitments and warranties are met and contribute to resolution of any unmet commitments or warranty issues. Standardization of process, pricing, and mechanics. Understand and interpret product specifications and information. Verify estimates with management for accuracy and best value. SCHEDULING/LOGISTICS Ensure distribution and delivery of products for construction, repair, and production are accurate, complete and on time.
Resolve and reconcile product delivery, availability, and shipment issues. Education, Training and Experience Requirements: The best fit for this position is an individual who has: Strong inventory management and purchasing experience. Strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills. Good keyboarding skills, accounting, and MS Office software experience. Fills orders for delivery to customers. Assures all batched managed material is labeled accurately and inventoried, as needed.
Maintains delivery vehicle in clean, good working condition and monitors maintenance and mileage data, as appropriate. Maintains daily driver logs and vehicle inspection sheets, as appropriate. Operates and maintains all equipment in a safe manner and adheres to all local, state, and federal traffic and safety regulations. Supports the operations functions of the warehouse. Informs proper departments of “stock outs”, inventory discrepancies and other inventory problems or concerns. Non-essential Functions May assist the City Desk and Will Call areas in providing customer service functions including, but not limited to, order entry, filling orders, processing returns, expediting, technical assistance, Will Call, and other functions, as needed.
May provide delivery of material to customer sites. Assists with loading and unloading of trucks. Notifies supervisor of any building or equipment maintenance, repair needs and/or any security concerns. Assists with other duties/projects as assigned by supervisor/manager. Qualifications Two-years of work experience preferred. Prior warehouse distribution experience including forklift operation and knowledge of electrical products/systems is also preferred.
