Vintage 1960s Rupp Lancer Resto-Mod Go-Kart.
$3,600 OBO Purchased from the original owner as a non-working project with frozen engine and modified frame. Ensuing 2 year restoration was a complete refurbishment and replacement of all mechanical components with all brand new modern pieces, and a careful professional repair of the frame to original
Rupp specifications. The list of work done is extensive and great attention to detail shows in this fine example of a vintage kart. Frame: custom fabricated Nassau panel fitted and welded in place. Homemade angle brackets on frame removed (shown in gallery) and new frame components added and welded in place.
Frame stripped and powder coated in a rich Soul Red Mazda color. Chrome butterfly wheel replaced original steering wheel. Replaced drive axle with brand new trued and balanced axle. Belly pan: replaced with custom fabricated pan, covered with reflective mirror vinyl, fitted with new rubber foot pad, attached to frame with black anodized hex fasteners. Wheels and tires: original 2
piece 5 inch Rupp Turbines cleaned and painted, new tubes and slick tires fitted, front 11x4x5, rear 11x4.5x5. Brakes: fitted with modern vented disc and CP BMI brand caliper and reservoir.
Seat and upholstery: original Lancer seat refoamed and recovered with custom made beaded vinyl, new chrome snaps. Engine and clutch/chainwheel: fitted with new 7hp 212cc OHV Predator clone (CARB certified) 4 stroke engine. Modified with electric start (and new battery), removed governor and larger Honda carburetor for more power. Fitted with new BMI centrifugal clutch, new chain and two-piece sprocket powder coated to match frame. Everything on this kart is brand new or carefully refurbished. This
beautiful Lancer resto-mod kart has less than 2 hours on all new components, and is stable, fast and fun.
