This position provides strategic planning and management for the College's academic advising program that serves approximately 1,600 undergraduate students. This working manager is responsible for staff management, advising, programming, implementation, evaluation of services, and the evolution of academic advising for the College while providing holistic and culturally fluent advising, coaching, and advocacy.
This director also provides expertise and guidance on curriculum updates, policies, and procedures, makes interpretations of complex policies and procedures, and manages non-routine issues. Expected Salary Range: $80,000 - $88,000 annually Areas of Responsibility
Lead Academic Advising Services (50%): Develop strategies and resources to support timely graduation for College of Design undergraduate students. Recruit, hire, and train academic advisors; evaluate advisors via ongoing and annual performance reviews; coach advisors on continuously improving their advising skills; take appropriate action related to individual and team performance.
Mentor and coach CDes academic advisors on dealing with students and parents; provide expertise, guidance, and coaching to CDes and University faculty and staff to resolve student issues; serve as consultant on complex cases and collegiate and university policies. Oversee collegiate scholarship business processes, including promotion of scholarship opportunities, recipient selection, annual distribution and tracking, and troubleshooting; liaise with collegiate units and University offices regarding stewardship of funds, best practices, and university policy; propose annual spending of scholarship funds to Assistant Dean.
Create and deliver training for staff and faculty on relevant and current topics related to academic advising and student success. Impressively the body and panels are laser straight with beautiful seam fit on all the gaps including the doors trunk and hood. The highly optioned Impala is powered by a rock solid and powerful Ram Jet Fuel Injected 350, the car runs strong and shifts thru the transmission smoothly.lots of fun and an excellent performing car, brakes well, and no rattles and shakes, very solid. This De Lorean has been well loved and cared for for the 12 years we have had her.
Of the 8,400 built this is one of the few of the 5,000 left in the world that still run and can be used as a daily driver. The " D" gets great gas mileage and zips down the highway or around town with ease. She gets the most attention at any of the car
shows we have had her at. Kids from 6 to 80 all recognize it. It's like driving a museum piece and a movie star. I would love to keep her, but it is now time she went to a new home so someone else can enjoy and take care of her. Most of the mechanical wear items have been replaced over the past few years to make her a true " Daily Driver" These include: -Dependable " Bulletproof" PRV (Peugeot-Renault-Volvo) engine.
Parts are available from many sources. -Complete 134a freon A/C system replacing the old R12 with new system designed for the car (Special T). Blows very cold for South Texas summers. -High amperage GM alternator. -New Power Brake Booster with Master Cylinder,
new FR flex brake lines, new brake pads (4 wheels) and new Front Disks. -New front wheel bearings. -Rack and Pinion replaced at about 46,500 mi (10,000 since).
-Brass Radiator (not plastic/Alum) with heavy duty (Spec T) Fans, coolant hoses, Stainless Surge Tank, air bleed system modification for coolant and New Water Pump (DMC), -Replaced cooling fans-Stainless steel letters in the rear bumper- Revised the horn to a WOLO air-horn (Europe sounding) -Cooper Tires (correct sizes FR for the car). about 6,000 miles on them. Dash has some cracks so a cloth dash cover was installed. -Convex Rear outside mirrors were cut and added over originals LR to help with seeing out. -Has a small crack in the windshield on the passenger side -Has a ding in the back bumper from parking lot bump -Has scratches on right roll up window from it being mis-aligned during -Has a ding in the hood from a bullet falling from the sky on new years eve.
