With its factory compression ratio of 8.8:1, the engine received factory ratings of 210 horsepower and 318 lb-ft of torque. the truck starts easily after two throttle pumps followed by a minute of running on

high idle before a tap of the throttle brings low idle. no smoke. he New Process NP 435 four-speed manual transmission is said to shift fine with no problems. Dodge’s bright red paint was called Toreador Red on 1971 trucks. Red finish here is original except for the tailgate, which was repainted after being dented.

The fifty-year old paint presents very well! Spartan is a good way to describe vintage Power Wagon interiors. Painted metal is a key component. The vinyl upholstery on the original bench seat has a crack on the driver’s side. The rubber floor mat is new. A newer AM radio was installed in 1975. The dash pad and steering wheel appear crack-free in the photos. The insert style partial factory original headliner is intact. The heater and lights all reportedly work properly.

The stock, 1.6-liter BMC B-series OHV engine features a cast-iron block and head, a compression ratio of 8.9:1, received its fuel from a pair of SU semi-downdraft carburetors and was rated at 90 horsepower when new.

this engine has only covered 300 miles since a full rebuild and is said to start and run smoothly today breathing through an upgraded

stainless steel exhaust. The four-speed manual transmission is reported to be properly functional, and no specific issues with weeps or leaks are noted. The engine bay is stock and virtually new in terms of cleanliness. This car’s paint, in the correct works color of Old English White, is said to remain in excellent condition, with no swirls.

The body condition is described as “perfect”! The rusted components were entirely replaced during the restoration, as were all body seals. The convertible top is said to be in as-new condition. The windshield is described as being in good condition, and the car still had its original side curtains, whose Plexiglas panels are said to have aged.

The MGA’s inset vertical grille slats appeared to be complete and undamaged. The chrome, too, looks to be in good shape, including the bumpers, badges and callouts.

All the exterior lighting is said to be properly functional. The underside of the car presents as impressively clean.

Ford assigned the MEL designation to the OHV V-8s in the Edsel line, standing for Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln, to designate the engine’s other intended uses.

The V-8 in this Corsair is the Super Express engine, offered optionally by Edsel in 1959, displacing 361 cubic inches. With a compression ratio of 10.0:1, the MEL 361 received its fuel via

a Ford four-barrel carburetor and was rated by the factory at 303 horsepower. the engine in this Corsair is original to the car and it, too, has just 25 miles since being rebuilt for the restoration. The engine is said to give off some smoke when first started before it warms up.

The three-speed automatic transmission is said to work properly. The engine bay, including the signature Edsel gloss-white air cleaner and rocker covers, presents as stock and all but spotless. The Corsair’s chrome, including the Edsel-defining frontal treatment, appears to be in very good condition. The complex side sweeps are straight and intact. the convertible top binds at one hinge point when being lowered, and has to be raised slightly by hand before the top will seat properly.

The 389-cu.

in. V-8 engine in this GTO is based on a replacement block, the car’s original cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds, and a correct 1965 Tri-Power induction system (the original engine had a four-barrel carburetor). The engine reportedly has approximately 3,000 miles on a rebuild that included new pistons, camshaft, lifters, timing

chain, oil pump and more. Also, the heads were reportedly rebuilt with new guides, valves, valve springs and retainers. The block was also align-honed and the cylinder overbored 0.030-inch. the engine starts and idles well, particularly with regular use.

The choke is said to be operational and the choke heat pipes are apparently in good condition, but the heat riser has been disabled in the exhaust manifold. The transmission is reportedly a correct 1965 Muncie four-speed that has been rebuilt. The shifter was also refurbished with new bushings and clips. it shifts smoothly and quietly, with a recently replaced clutch, channeling the 389’s torque to the original YF-code 3.23:1-ratio Safe-T-Track rear axle, which is said to have new axle bearings and seals. There are no reported leaks with the transmission or axle.
