Responsible for generating real estate loans to meet the lending goals and objectives of the credit union. Handle mortgage loans of highest complexity, value, and risk. Interview applicants to determine and recommend the best loan product to fit their needs. Pre-qualify prospective borrowers and inform them of loan options, market
conditions, and necessary documentation to close a potential loan.
Provide information and promote credit union products and services to members. Identify ancillary product sales opportunities. Attends all first time homebuyer closings and other purchase closing as required. Maintain and foster a relationship with members for potential real estate and other loan product referrals. Support the processing and preparation of the loan for closing by exhibiting knowledge of state and federal regulations governing real estate transactions. Provide expertise and support with loan resolution matters. Assist in the review of guidelines, programs, and updates or changes to the credit union's mortgage policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills: Experience: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience. Education: A two year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or equivalent work experience in the field. Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation.
