The Institute for Public Strategies (IPS) is seeking a full-time Youth Community Access Project Coordinator focused on coordinating and managing impactful and meaningful outdoor and cultural experiences for communities that are low income and traditionally disadvantaged with the goal of achieving improved physical and mental health, identify alternatives for drug and alcohol use, reduce social isolation, and decrease dependence on screens for stimulation. This position requires

a creative problem solver who can manage the details without losing sight of the big picture.

The candidate must work well as part of a diverse team with varying ideas and work styles. Our corporate office is based in Mission Valley in San Diego but this position will require the Youth Community Access Project Coordinator to work in the East Region of San Diego County. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Coordinate the implementation of an outdoor and cultural experience program for at-risk and low-income youth ages 13-26; Recruit, coordinate, and facilitate various youth groups throughout the East County region of San Diego County to advance physical and mental health, provide alternatives for substance use, reduce social isolation, and decrease dependence on screen time; Lead trips with youth to various outdoor and cultural environments; Coordinate and communicate with parents/guardians of participants Supervise Youth/Young Adult Interns; Collaborate, create, and cultivate partnerships among community groups to help implement project objectives; Coordinate presentations related to the outdoor world and cultural resources; Participate in data gathering activities, to include youth focus groups and community surveys; Participate in selected community meetings as needed; Coordinate training and technical assistance to youth and young adult participants; Establish partnerships with local, state, and national parks and also tribal nations to advance project objectives; Facilitate meetings and/or trainings focusing on youth empowerment and resilience; Help with a variety of administrative tasks; Complete progress reports Other duties as assigned JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Experience with outdoor recreational activities.

Actual compensation will depend on the successful candidates’ work location, qualifications, skills, and depth of experience. What You Will Do: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang. What Gets You The Job: 2-3 years of hands-on backend experience. Proficiency in Golang (Go programming language), with practical experience in a professional environment.
