About the job Our Richmond manufacturing facility is adding a brand-new 1st shift welder to our lineup, and we’d like to hear from you.
This position works in the fabrication of pumps and valves made from stainless steel. The Welder, using blueprints and other documents, will lay out, fit and weld fabricated, cast and forged components to various parts of pumps and valves using a variety of weld processes in a number of positions. Hours: 6:00am – 2:30pm Monday through Friday, plus
overtime as required Base pay starts at $25.00 per hour (or higher based on experience) As a part of the team, you will: • Read and interpret blueprints. • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal pieces using TIG welding processes.
• Operate manual flame cutting equipment. • Operate metal shaping machines such as hand box brake, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines. • Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments. • Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper. • Welds components in multiple positions. • Determines required equipment and welding
method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
• Notifies supervisor of any quality or safety issues. • Maintains effective interpersonal working relationships, functions as a team member. • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. • Works in other departments on an as-needed basis. • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
