About this role This candidate will have experience taking projects from concept through production (PPAP). Ideally they will have strong component design skills with specific focus and knowledge around design for manufacturing in plastic injection molding, sheet metal design and tooling, and die cast part design and tooling.
Material knowledge is also required. Frequent interactions with Senior Staff, Engineers, suppliers, and internal customers will be required. Some travel to support part manufacturing and resolution of part deviation issues.
Good communication and planning skills are required. Key Responsibilities Expert level Mechanical design experience using 3D CAD and using/applying manufacturing knowledge to mechanical designs. Create production prints or guide other Sr. Design Engineers. Advanced knowledge of GD&T to develop stack tolerances for mechanical prints and assembles. Good communication and presentation skills. Inspection of production parts and comparison to design intent to identify acceptable
deviations, or knowledge of tooling and processing to develop plans to correct.
As needed technical planning and technical project communications/reviews.
