Group, provide electrical engineering technical support for plant operating and maintenance departments. The engineers also provide electrical engineering support for capital projects including (1) definition of the electrical/instrument scope of project, (2) input to estimates, design and specification of equipment, and (3) other needed capital project services.

Individuals in this role maintain expertise in assigned functional areas and areas of subject matter expertise. The engineer also maintains corporate and site standards related to assigned functional areas, aligning these with other industry standards as applicable. Job Responsibilities Provide electrical and instrument (E&I)

engineering technical support, primarily for the Longview, Texas site, but for other sites as requested.

Identify opportunities for improved instrument and interlock design (e. g. improved safety, quality, cost, reliability, etc. ). Instrumentation and Process Safety Interlock functional ownership: Work with Operations staff and Maintenance to address interlock concerns. Provide engagement and support for capital projects involving interlock design and applications. Support site efforts to ensure interlock verifications are properly scheduled and completed in accordance with interlock design requirements. Assist in the troubleshooting of SIS and interlock related issues. Lead effort for site interlock initiatives to ensure documentation and procedures are in accordance with the necessary requirements.

Evaluate interlock verification extensions for approval. Ensure that outside SIS design firms meet Eastman standards for quality and safety, and follow procedures. Engage in incident reviews associated with instrumentation and interlocks to discern root causes. Provide mentorship and sharing of knowledge for other team members. The role of the Relief Systems Engineer is to provide safety services and support for the Eastman Longview

Site and other Eastman Chemical Company sites upon request. This role features extensive interface and partnership with Capital Project, Research and Development, and Manufacturing personnel.

The Relief Systems Engineer will work within the Process Engineering group with primary responsibilities around all aspects of the pressure protection system and relief valve network. This role can provide a rotational assignment opportunity with responsibilities as a process design engineer. Those responsibilities could include leading the front-end engineering (FEL) phase of capital projects, frequently involving coordination of efforts from various organizations and discipline engineers.
