) Assist Operations Manager to supervise and schedule the operations staff. Assist with general repairs on the building. (I. E. Drywall and paint patches, pluming maintenance and repairs. PVC and copper) Service and maintain lighting fixtures while keeping an organized inventory of supplies. (I. E. Light bulbs. ) Carpet cleaning program along with maintenance and service of carpet cleaning
systems. Help maintain and repair custodial equipment. (I. E. Vacuums & floor cleaners. ) Visually inspect equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication.
Record operation and maintenance actions taken during shift in operator logbook. Support conference center events by temporarily installing and dismantling utilities (I. E. electrical wheels & audio/visual) as events dictate. Support conference center client needs for events. (I. E. Hanging banners, moving materials, etc.) Other duties as assigned by supervisor, which include assisting other departments with regard to maintenance and event services. ABOUT YOU : Education: High school
graduation or equivalent. Experience: 1 year experience in general maintenance.
Knowledge: Computer applications including Word, Excel, are preferred. General safety knowledge of boom lifts, scissor lifts, ladders and forklifts. Skills: Public relations and sound decision making in stressful situations. Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees in the organization. WATER MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II -ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Work associated with laying, repairing, and maintaining pipelines and associated system components; work with SCADA, meters, and other electronic and computer associated equipment. Labor type work including working with construction, paving or landscaping material. Operate construction and maintenance equipment and power tools such as dump trucks, front-end loader, backhoe, asphalt patch
truck, vactor, flush truck, compressors, jack hammers, paint sprayers, sand blasters, concrete saws, mowers, edgers and blowers; maintain hand tools and assigned equipment; perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
Install street barricades and cones prior to the performance of street repair activities; direct and control traffic around work sites. Perform snow removal and ice control duties as required. Produce computer generated reports. Assist in the installation,
maintenance, and repair of water mains, services, fire hydrants, valves, detector checks, and backflow prevention devices.
Install air breathing systems. Flush main water lines and hydrants as necessary. Assist in pipe laying and pipeline repairs. Assist in tapping main lines and boring for service installations; replace customer service lines. Check water lines and meters for leaks; make water line connections and set meters; accordingly, install and replace customer service lines and meters when necessary. Conduct high water bill inspections; install, repair, and replace meters and meter vaults and boxes. Remove old water meters and set new ones; repair and replace rings and covers; continually inspect repairs.
Participate in safety and risk management activities; take action to reduce liability to the city. Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
