position is located at Lower Granite Natural Resources Office, operated by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, and situated in Clarkston, Washington. Duties Performs tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the dam structure and appurtenant equipment; administrative, shop and storage buildings; and recreation sites and natural resource features including wildlife habitat developments.

Operates trucks, wheeled tractor with front-end loader and backhoe attachments, air compressor, high pressure cleaning equipment, lubrication equipment, chain saw, garden tractor/lawn mowers, hand and power tools and various other equipment items. Performs of a variety of subjourneyman skill level

trade tasks in the following skills: carpentry, painting, plumbing, metal work, concrete work and mechanical maintenance. Performs a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance such as mowing, pruning, cutting of dead trees and shrubs, tree planting, trail clearing, fertilizing, weeding, and other beautification work.

Operates a boat up to 26 feet on the lake to get to otherwise inaccessible areas. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Position may be filled for either the Day Shift (6:30 a. m. - 5:00 p. m. ) or Night Shift (10:00 p. m. - 6:30 a. m. ) Pre-employment

Must be able to perform the majority of the following routine duties, working from easily understood written and oral directions: carpentry, painting, plumbing, metal work, concrete work, mechanical maintenance and grounds keeping for grounds, structures, fixtures, utilities and equipment, without more than normal supervision.

- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. The incumbent normally works on project recreation and wildlife area facilities and equipment requiring considerable standing, stooping, bending, walking, and reaching. May perform work on ladders and scaffolds that requires overhead reaching. The work requires the lifting of materials, tools, and equipment that weigh up to 75 pounds. Majority of work is performed outside with exposure to a variety of weather and temperature extremes. Some tasks may be performed inside. There is exposure to potential insect and snakebite.

Is subject to cuts and bruises common to users of hand and power tools. May be subject to strain from lifting or carrying heavy tools or equipment. Is exposed to traffic hazards while driving on both improved and unimproved road surfaces. Mountain Dam (MMD) on the White River near Enumclaw in King County, WA. Duties Perform simple electrical and mechanical tasks by following instruction from journeyman-level employees. Perform minor repairs of plumbing facilities such as replacing faucets, hose connections, fish flumes and pipes, drains, heat traces, pipe, and miscellaneous fixtures.

Assist journeyman-level employees to install, construct, repair or modify items and structures. Paint equipment, gates, road surfaces, curbs, fish tanks, buildings, and furniture items using standard brushing or spraying techniques under the direction of a journeyman-level employee. Under the guidance and supervision of journeyman-level employees,

performs a variety of welding processes to carry out standard welding operations, not requiring critical stress or testing of weld. Perform miscellaneous duties such as preparing purchase card requests, maintaining roads, clearing debris from channels, cutting trees and limbs, opening and closing gates, cleaning building and restrooms, pressure washing and sediment removal.

May occasionally work in cramped and confined quarters, and the work requires expending significant effort in moving materials, and adjusting and placing heavy equipment throughout the day. WORKING CONDITIONS: Majority of work is performed outside in extreme temperature and weather conditions.

Is subject to strains and similar types of injuries from lifting tools, heavy equipment, and materials. Is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, scrapes. and electrical shock. Is frequently required to wear uncomfortable protective clothing. Work is often dirty and greasy. May work on ladders and scaffolding. Will work in the close proximity of deep and fast-moving water where drowning is possible if proper personal safety harness and floatation devices are not utilized or worn properly.
