for the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and all preparation of documentation relative to meal preparation and kitchen operation. responsible for cleaning of the facility focusing on the daily general cleanliness and ensuring a proper and sanitary environment for clients, employees, and visitors.

Laundry responsibilities during the shift may be required. Essential skills and abilities: 1) Ability to come to work every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM 2) Ability to work in a kitchen and laundry environment with all necessary equipment. 3) Ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients. 4) Ability to perform housekeeping duties on three floors and maintain

the kitchen and equipment in a state of cleanliness. 5) Ability to stand for an extended period of time. 6) Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to fifty pounds.

7) Work other shifts as needed and able. Primary responsibilities: 1) Prepares menus to ensure that food is appetizing and nutritionally suitable for children. 2) Maintains daily record of meals served and take inventory of supplies and equipment. 3) Responsible for the cleaning and care of the kitchen area and equipment. 4) Responsible for planning for special meals in conjunction with child care team and Recreation Coordinator. 5) Clean and maintain supplies in all bathrooms; sweep, vacuum and/or mop all facility floors; empty

all trash. 6) Responsible for general cleanliness of entire facility.

7) Notify supervisor of any problems/concerns with equipment and perform all duties as assigned. 8) Maintain weekly maintenance checklist reporting to supervisor when necessary. Educational and work experience requirements: 1) High school diploma or GED preferred. 2) One Year of experience in food preparation in a residential facility is required. 3) One Year of experience in household maintenance in a residential facility is required. 4) Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License acceptable to Agency Insurance company. 5) Good moral character, emotionally stable, and of sufficient health, ability, experience, and education to perform the assigned duties and free of communicable tuberculosis.

6) Awareness and sensitivity of cultural differences among agency residents. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.

The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The position encounters cold, wet and/or humid conditions, heat and fire, moderate to loud noise levels, and may have to reach precarious places.
