Provides competent, evidence-based medical care by interviewing, examining, and treating patients. Determines the level of urgency of follow-up care, referral/consultation appointments and diagnostic testing. Has a thorough knowledge of and experience with pharmacological agents. Educates patients on wellness, prevention and on the importance of early detection of disease and provides appropriate resources

to the patient to help them understand their own health. Exercises final medical judgment and assumes ultimate responsibility for the performance of mid-level medical and clinical nursing staff.

Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs according to personal and institutional requirement. Assists in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients.
