3)Maintains Educational record. 4)Maintains Certification 5)Participates on unit/hospital committees and projects 6)Maintains 10 CEU’s annually Education/Experience Required: • Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program ARC-STSA(CAAHEP- Commision on Accredidation of Allied Health Education Programs) • This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i. e. understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging; prior experience with various age groups is preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: • Ability to work well with internal and external customers • Fine motor skills • Ability to wear a surgical mask and gloves • Auditory skills which allow incumbent to hear individuals whose speech may be muffled • CPR certified • Certified Surgical Technologist certification from the NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions: • Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations • May be exposed to hazardous materials and life threatening diseases heavy lifting in accordance with DOL definition • Ability to work rotating shifts and day of the week and take call as needed • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with established time constraints.

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be backssed on a case-by-case basis. Addendum: Operating room experience may be required.
