They also assist in cleaning the interior and exterior of the convention center and maintain them in an orderly condition. This is a nonexempt, hourly position. Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities: Sets up chairs, tables and stands according to function specifications. Following functions breaks down equipment and furniture for storage or use in additional functions. Picks up debris from perimeter, grounds and parking

lots. Helps maintain cleanliness of sidewalks, including snow removal. Operates blowers, edgers and mowers to maintain the grounds. Greets guests in a courteous, professional manner.

Maintains ongoing cleanliness of banquet, meeting rooms and exhibit halls. Sweeps, vacuums and cleans banquet/meeting rooms and halls as required. Maintains banquet supplies and equipment stock in satisfactory working order. Cleans hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, stairways, offices and other work areas. Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors, using brooms, mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies, using vacuum cleaner. Dusts

furniture and equipment. Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.

Washes walls, ceilings and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels and sills. Empties wastebaskets, empties and cleans ashtrays. Collects trash in such areas as hallways, corridors, storerooms and any other area indicated by management. Transports trash and waste to disposal area. Replenishes bathroom supplies. Assists Maintenance Technicians with basic maintenance duties as needed. Performs duties and functions as assigned by management. ADDENDUM: Adapts to changing responsibilities and duties that are a result of the recent national health emergency. Exercises resourcefulness and flexibility, assisting in duties that are not typical to this position, such as, but not limited to, helping with housekeeping duties, serving as a greeter for guests.

The period of time these extra duties may be required will be determined by management based on what is necessary for the well-being of the organization. Minimum Experience, Skills or Education Required: High school education or equivalent preferred; one to three years experience preferred. Specific Vocational Preparations preferred, which include an occupationally significant combination of vocational education, apprentice training, on-the-job training or essential experience in less responsible jobs, which lead to higher jobs, or serving in other jobs.

Must have mathematical development sufficient to be able to add and subtract. Must have developed language skills to be able to read at a minimum level, print simple sentences and speak simple sentences. Must be able to follow instructions. Must be able to judge readily observable, functional, structural or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people or things. Must be able to use body members, tools or special devices to work, move, guide or place objects or materials.

This would involve some latitude for judgement with regard to precision attained and selection of appropriate tool, object or material, although this is readily manifest. Must be able to use hands to lift, carry or pull objects that may be heavy. Must be able to interpret simple room layout drawings. Must be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather. Must be able to learn simple procedures and techniques. Must be able to perform routine or the same task over and over again.
