As a Material Flow Coordinator/Forklift Operator for Nordic Ware's Coatings Department, you will be in charge of coordinating the movement of product from department to department, storage of in-process product, and supplying machine operators with necessary parts and supplies.
You will utilize written schedules and knowledge of plant operations to ensure minimal downtime in production. What you will get to do: Coordinate material flow from department to department by responding to a written schedule of material movement needs and department supervisor's requests,
and by acting on knowledge of plant operations. Fill out and check movement tags and daily production cards. Reassure counts are accurate. Work closely with department Inventory specialist.
Operate forklift truck, company elevator and hand lifts to move a wide variety of supplies and products while following all safety protocols. Perform routine maintenance on equipment to insure safe and efficient operation. Includes recharging forklifts and other related duties. Receive and ship department materials. Play a key role in the minimization of downtime on the production lines. Assist group leaders in any setup, on request. Ensure proper housekeeping procedures are followed, including emptying
of trash. Work with other departments to assure proper material flow.
Follow all safety rules at all times. Perform other related duties as assigned. What you'll bring to the role: Knowledge of bar-coding, scanning equipment, and procedures Accurate mathematical aptitude. Strong organization skills Knowledge of all fixtures and uses. Willing to work overtime as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the position, as well as maintain a reliable record of attendance and punctuality. Self-starter; must be able to work independently without supervision. Must be willing to train to meet Northland's licensing requirements to operate a forklift and drive company truck.
