the competitive service. About the Position: This is a Lead Police Officer position with Directorate of Emergency Services, Police Patrol Branch. Duties Serves as a Lead Police Officer assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.

Oversees collecting and preserving of evidence, conducting long and short-term investigations on criminal cases and analyzing facts. Develops case information for use in pressing charges and bringing suspects to trial. Preforms required lifesaving first aid in the event of an emergency as a first responder to an incident. Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques and provides on-the-job training to new

employees in accordance with established procedures. Reports to supervisor on performance, progress, and training needs of employees and makes informal suggestions on employee personnel Actions.

Conducts traffic law enforcement patrol using specialized equipment such as radar, Lidar and breathalyzer. Responds to radio calls or reports situations that are general assistance. Performs protection duties to deter, detect and deny unauthorized access at installation and incident perimeter posts. This position is designated as a Mission Essential position. The incumbent must work irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime. This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer. The incumbent must wear a uniform and comply with the Army Civilian Police Dress and maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene in accordance with AR 190-56.

The incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons. The incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
