If so, we want you to join our team as our new Quality Manager! In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the quality assurance function within your business

unit, informing all inspection and management personnel of quality problems and solutions. You will evaluate all changes, modifications and additions to product lines and determine the effect on product quality and costs.

You will provide resources for quality improvement activities, including waste reduction, cost reduction and process validation. You will report directly to the Associate Director, Quality. Responsibilities Provides leadership and supervision (either directly or indirectly) for all salaried and hourly associates assigned to the responsible business unit. Hire, train, coach, and motivate associates to drive the company attainment and business unit quality objectives.

Responsible for the performance management process and development. Plan and conduct product and process verification and testing activities within the business unit value stream, including the assignment of resources.

Report and attain key quality and business metrics within the assigned business unit. Initiate capability studies of processes to identify causes of chronic levels of defects and remedy those areas associated with a high cost of quality. Review inspection systems, methods and procedures for optimization of quality and resources. Recommend and explain capital expenditures and validate to implementation. Provides functional support to the Engineering Department for the writing of protocols, data gathering and data analysis associated with the Plant Validation Program - including prospective, retrospective and revalidation efforts.

Conduct process capability studies and/or process optimization studies prior to validations. Takes lead in Process Characterization activities within the assigned business unit. Acquires data from critical processes allowing for trend analysis and recommends action to be taken to maintain/acquire statistical process control. Communicates and coordinates with required organizations in FLKS to drive resolution of quality activities (SAs, ACRs, Validations, NCMRs, Variances, Escalated Customer Complaints, C2W, etc.

)Assure coordination of the overall quality effort within the business unit in the following areas: Provide plant self-audit information on the product and process to assure compliance with all government regulations (QSR, FDA, and Contractual). Periodically review Quality specifications to assure accuracy and adequacy. Formulate and implement policies and procedures relating to product quality or process control as appropriate. Provide test and statistical support for customer complaint issues that arise and make recommendations on actions to be taken.

Support Metrology activities and Gauge calibration program. Additional Responsibilities: Operates within the Safety and QSR guidelines of BD-Sumter. Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management. Requirements: Requires a minimum of a BS degree in science, engineering, or relevant field. Engineering Major is preferred Minimum of 3 years quality assurance experience3 years of quality management/leadership experience Strong management, team skills, and influential management highly desired Able to communicate precisely and accurately to all levels of the organization.

ASQ certifications CQE, CSQE, CRE, CMQ/OE, CSSGB and/or CSSBB highly desired. Proven understanding of QSRs and/or ISO13485 and/or FDA preferred Six Sigma training (Preferred)Experience in the Medical Device area would be an advantage.
