The incumbent works under the general direction of the Environmental Program Manager II, Chief, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Branch, (CLPPB).

As Chief, Program Evaluation and Research Section (PERS), the Research Scientist Supervisor II (Epidemiology/Biostatistics) (RSS II), will oversee surveillance for lead exposure and evaluation of program activities to identify lead exposed children and see that they are provided with services. The RSS II will collaborate on program planning

and evaluation, participate in and design special studies and projects relevant to program functions, oversee PERS analysis of CLPPB data, assure appropriate and accurate collection of information for CLPPB functions and assure functioning of CLPPB databases.

The RSS II will participate in government proposals such as budget change proposals and legislative analyses. The RSS II will serve as a liaison to other agencies and organizations as needed. Supervises State Employees as first line supervisor, including: Research Scientist Supervisor I; Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisor) and Health Program Manager I.
