Fifth District Our Organization and Mission: The five Regional Counsel offices were created by the Legislature pursuant to Section 27.511, Fla.

Stat. in 2007 to provide legal representation to indigent persons in criminal conflict cases where the Public Defender has a conflict or in cases where there are multiple co-defendants.

The Regional Counsel Office, Fifth Region serves 4 judicial circuits and 13 counties. They are as follows: Fifth Circuit – Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion, Sumter; Seventh Circuit – Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, Volusia; Ninth Circuit – Orange, Osceola; Eighteenth Circuit – Brevard, Seminole. Counsel who is appointed by the governor. Criminal Defense Attorney - The Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, 5th District, is seeking full time criminal defense attorneys in Brooksville, Hernando County, Florida.

The position will involve litigating all levels of felony cases. The primary objective of the attorney is to litigate and provide the most effective and efficient representation possible to our indigent clients.
