Stat. in 2007 to provide legal representation to indigent persons in criminal conflict cases where the Public Defender has a conflict or in cases where there are multiple co-defendants.
The Regional Counsel Office, Fifth Region serves 4 judicial circuits and 13 counties. They are as follows: Fifth Circuit – Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion, Sumter; Seventh Circuit – Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, Volusia; Ninth Circuit – Orange, Osceola; Eighteenth Circuit – Brevard, Seminole. Counsel who is appointed by the governor. Criminal Defense Attorney - The Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, 5th District, is seeking full time criminal defense attorneys in Inverness, Citrus County, Florida.
The position will involve litigating felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile delinquency cases. The primary objective of the attorney is to litigate and provide the most effective and efficient representation possible to our indigent clients. The Attorney will be required to represent clients in various types of court hearings, to include jury trials, non-jury trials, evidentiary hearings, and motion practice. Experience preferred, but not required. Must be a member
in good standing with The Florida Bar or registered to take the February 2024 Bar Exam.
