Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer,

the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

Position Overview: The position evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.

Performs assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for an engineering discipline on a project team within a global business unit.

Understands the basic discipline work processes. Performs engineering tasks, having a minor degree of complexity, under the leadership of an engineering supervisor, lead, or more senior engineer. Participates in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data from suppliers. The candidate will be required to be familiar with relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Engineering Department Procedure Instructions (EDPIs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).

Responsibilities: The Control Systems Engineer's responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Design and review of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) for various plant systems Generation of design and design change packages Origination of setpoint calculations Specification of instrumentation and control valves Generation of instrument and control valve data sheets and material requisitions Design and review of digital and analog control logic Data entry to instrumentation, valve, and I/O databases, Design and application of tubing and instrument installations, etc.

Allocation and layout of facility control system I/O Coordination of physical locations of instrumentation, control valves, control cabinets, etc. Design and review of cabinet layouts Design and review control systems graphic displays Review of supplier provided data and documentation Participate in supplier factory acceptance testing Coordination with other engineering disciplines and other functions, Perform plant/site walkdowns and generate of walkdown notes/packages Basic Qualifications: BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering field, from an accredited university, with three (3) years of progressive related experience, or in lieu of degree, nine (9) years of progressive related control systems engineering experience.
