and Programming department on Granville Island to coordinate the Granville Island Busking Program and maximize public use and enjoyment of Granville Island’s outdoor public spaces.

This is a temporary position until May 2025. The schedule for this position is Sunday to Thursday. Work is also required on occasional evenings and holidays. What you’ll do: Manage outdoor spaces and coordinate their usage with buskers, community groups, schools, private functions, events and performances. Answer queries, take bookings and disseminate information to members of the public booking spaces for weddings, celebrations and school performances. Assist with programming new and enhanced public spaces

to meet specified objectives and in accordance with planned schedules and budgets.

Communicate with stakeholders (Granville Island staff, businesses, security, traffic control, visitors and outdoor space users) to ensure smooth delivery of programming in outdoor spaces. Maintain, administer and review the Busking Program regulations and update and maintain the website. Conduct ongoing evaluation of the busking program to ensure adherence to regulations and by-laws and reflection of the Granville Island mission statement and implementing improvements. Liaise with and provide back-up/relief for the Volunteer Coordinator. What you should have: Post-secondary education in Event Management, Planning, Performing Arts or related field.

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in event organization. Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork and organizational skills and ability to maintain strong business and community relationships. The ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and in an environment with numerous interruptions and act with diplomacy when collaborating with diverse groups. The ability to initiate and follow through on assignments with attention to detail. The ability to analyze, organize and present information alongside identifying the opportunity to streamline processes.

Proficiency in Word and Excel. The ability to work a non-standard work week. It would be great if you also: Experience working with musicians, street performers and/or other performance artists. Experience managing a busking program and knowledge of the international busking world. Technical skills to update website information. Develops prospective and renewal rates for group accounts in accordance with corporate and underwriting guidelines.

Reviews and determines whether or not to grant exceptions to underwriting policy. Ensures the proper administration of underwriting and legislative guidelines for new and renewing groups. Handles large volume production with account specific issues (I. e. reinstatements, eligibility standards, group identification criteria, etc) Maintains a working knowledge of State and Federal regulations affecting group rating. Prepares rate breakouts and hierarchy definitions for group setups. Reviews and directs the preparation of experience reports for fiscal, ERISA and contingent premium settlements.

May meet with external customers, brokers or account representatives to review underwriting calculations and provide explanations for rating principles. May prepare written summaries of recommendations and/or conditions of coverage for the group after completion of each analysis. May prepare an explanation of the past rating history, documenting benefit and enrollment changes, and providing a recommendation for benefit and financial options. Contribute to timely and accurate productivity by assisting the Manager in education to new Underwriters. Attends broker meetings, as well as meetings with sales executives, agents and/or groups to provide explanations of rating principles or rationale of rating positions.

Contributes to the development of new rating formulas, methodologies and guidelines. Represent underwriting on Cambia workgroups and strategy sessions and serves as department representative where applicable. Responsible for the assignment of workload and ensuring smooth operations. Tracking timeliness and quality of work output. May be responsible for peer review and sign-off. Minimum Requirements Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. The expected hiring range for a Underwriter Lead is $88,500.00 - $120,500.00 depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; performance history; and work location. The bonus target for this position is 15%.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Data Platform Engineer II to join our growing team. Data Platform Engineers take full ownership of delivering high-performing, high-impact data platform as products, and services, from a description of a problem customer Data Engineers are trying to solve all the way through to final delivery (and ongoing monitoring and operations). They are standard bearers for software engineering and quality coding practices within the team and are expected to mentor more junior engineers; they may even coordinate the work of more junior engineers on a large project.

They devise useful metrics ensuring their services are meeting customer demand, having an impact, and iterate to deliver and improve on those metrics in an agile fashion. The Data Platform team builds and manages reusable components and architectures designed to make it both fast and easy to build robust, scalable, production-grade data products and services in the challenging biomedical data space. A Data Platform Engineer II is a technical individual contributor, building modern, cloud-native systems for standardizing and templatizing data engineering, such as: - Standardized physical storage and search / indexing systems - Schema management (data + metadata + versioning + provenance + governance) - API semantics and ontology management - Standard API architectures - Kafka + standard streaming semantics - Standard components for publishing data to file-based, relational, and other sorts of data stores - Metadata systems - Tooling for QA / evaluation etc.

A Data Platform Engineer II knows the metrics desired for their tools and services and iterates to deliver and improve on those metrics in an agile fashion.

Additional responsibilities include: Given a well-specified data framework problem, implement end-to-end solutions using appropriate programming languages (e. g. python, Scala, or go), open-source tools (e. g. Spark, Elasticsearch,), and cloud vendor-provided tools (e. g. Amazon S3) Leverage tools provided by Tech (e. g. infrastructure as code, cloud Ops, Dev Ops, logging / alerting) in delivery of solutions. Write proper documentation in code as well as in wikis/other documentation systems.

Write fantastic code along with proper unit, functional, and integration tests for code and services to ensure quality. Stay up to date with developments in the open-source community around data engineering, data science, and similar tooling. Why you?
