Roles & Responsibilities This is a field mechanic role responsible for performing mechanic duties for rotating equipment maintenance within midstream gas compression / gathering assets. This includes working on various equipment types such as pumps, compressors, engines, motors, blower, and fans. Responsibilities include interaction with technical specialists,

engineering, planning, scheduling, and supply chain to support continuous improvement of equipment reliability and minimizing equipment downtime.

The primary responsibilities for these roles include: Maintains and repairs: gas compressors, air compressors, pumps, IC engines, Condenser fans, gear boxes, electric motors, valves, and basic system controls. Inspects equipment for signs of vibration damage, leaks, unusual noise, excessive wear, damage from foreign objects in fluid, and corrosion damage. Completes preventative and predictive maintenance per PM schedule on: Gas compressors, air compressors, pumps, IC engines, fin fans, gear boxes, electric motors, valves, and basic system controls.

Troubleshoots performance issues on the following equipment: gas compressors, air compressors, pumps, Internal combustion engines, fin fans, gear boxes, electric motors, valves and basic control systems. Maintains and inspects pumps, compressors, gas engines, electric drivers, and steam drivers. Repairs and/or replaces compressor valves. Completes alignment activities on pumps and compressors. Replaces packing on positive displacement pumps. Replaces lube oil and air filters. Completes overhauls on equipment per manufacturer recommendations on hourly usage.

Completes pump repairs: replace mechanical seals, packing, seals, gaskets, bearings, inspection of vanes, alignment, and inspection of clearances. Completes vibration monitoring of plant equipment, including compressors, pumps. Completes bearing inspections, repair or replace valves and packing, and checking of alignment. Completes lubrication sampling, analysis, and proper reporting to reliability program contacts. Completes condenser fan inspections, inspecting/repairing/replacing fan bearings, vibration monitoring, and inspection of condition of belts. Greases, inspects, and replaces bearings of electric motors.

Conducts and/or participates in defect elimination meetings. Demonstrates basic computer skills including efficient management of email and calendars. Demonstrates competency to read and interpret: P&IDs, PFDs, schematics, blueprints, an isometric drawing. Skilled in gas processing, terminology, and concepts relevant to work activities (e. g. hydrostatic pressures, pressure ratings, torque). Comprehensive knowledge of key process equipment operation, components, and related concepts. Comprehensive understanding of valve and piping construction, pressure ratings, and piping specifications applicable to job role.
