POSITION SCOPE: The Field Mechanic is safety, sensitive position that will perform equipment, truck and trailer repairs. The position will also run diagnostic tests on equipment and work closely with other team members. PRIMARY DUTIES: Perform major and minor repairs on equipment. Conduct regular preventive maintenance on equipment, trucks and trailers. Maintain parts inventory and accurate records of repairs performed
on equipment. Ability to work from knees and back. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Determine equipment condition by conducting inspection and diagnostic test to identify worn and damaged parts.
Complete preventive maintenance schedules to keep equipment available for use. Verify equipment performance by operating equipment. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by O. S. H. A. M. S. H. A. and company policy. Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup. Other duties as assigned. BACKGROUND: Applicant must be at least 18 years old. Mechanical experience with rolling stock, trucks, trailers and heavy equipment. Welding
