inspect and assure items are in conformance to blueprints and other repair data Maintains a safe and audit-ready work area Maintains a minimum billable efficiency of 80% Cross trains to a minimum of 80% of all shop equipment Maintains the ability to operate and program 80% of shop equipment, including the coordinate measuring machine Develops and documents procedures for new capability parts and components for shop use Designs and manufactures tooling components needed by the repair center Takes actions to continually improve the team’s work environment, reduce waste and promote lean work habits Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials

on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders and shapers.

Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly. Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance. Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated.

Qualifications Education/Training : o Minimum of 3 years machining experience in the aerospace industry Thorough Knowledge of: o Machining principles on materials ranging from stainless steel to magnesium o Machining processes, tools and mathematics. o Safe use of shop equipment, processes and measuring tools o Microsoft Office Basics Skill to: o Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds o Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining o Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment and determine material, parts and equipment required o Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry o Use a variety of hand tools and precision measuring instruments o Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings o Read standard gauges and other measuring devices o Read, comprehend and write instructions, short correspondence and memos o Learn industry-related software o Mentor and coach other team members in the interpretation of mechanical drawings, standard gages and other Section for measuring devices Pursuant to International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”), applicants for SELECT positions will be required to provide proof of U.
