The work involves a variety of technical, multi-disciplined engineering work related to professional land surveying and the development of Right of Way Plans. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: · Supervising the development, recordation, and existing inventory of R/W plans involved in property acquired for transportation projects, · Interpreting legal documents, · Writing legal description · Making decisions relating to survey and real estate issues and, · Approving project plans.
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience: Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor in Maine

Acceptance (QA) of fabricated items pertaining to projects involving bridge, highway, traffic, and other related transportation structures.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Overseeing the review process of Working Drawings submitted to the Department by outside contractors for review and approval.
Ensuring that work being performed in fabrication facilities is being appropriately staffed by QA inspectors working directly for the Department or for outside consulting firms. Administering contracts with outside consulting firms that provide QA inspection for the Department at fabrication facilities. Directly supervising Department employees who are assigned to
perform QA inspection in fabrication facilities. Troubleshooting issues that arise in the course of manufacturing of fabricated items. The successful candidate will have: A working knowledge of processes related to the fabrication of structural steel, precast/prestressed concrete, and other similar products.
Experience in reviewing and approving structural Working Drawings. A working knowledge of codes related to fabrication of steel and concrete items is desired. Expertise in the use of computer programs including, but not limited to, word processing and spreadsheet software. The ability to travel statewide, out-of-state and internationally (Canada), including overnight stays, is required.
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience: Licensure as a Professional Engineer plus two (2) years of work experience beyond such licensure which demonstrates the performance of significantly complex engineering science, competency in evaluating risk, and applying sound engineering judgement as it applies to planning, project development, and/or maintenance of public works structures and facilities.
