encompasses but is not limited to ventilation, muck passes, mine drainage, and electrical installations. Mining methods include ramp and fill, cut and fill, long hole stopes, and various vertical and lateral development methods. Engineering support also includes Surface Projects such as pipelines, structural concrete, bridges, lined ponds, commercial/industrial buildings.

Mine planning includes backssment of ground control needs (in conjunction with rock mechanics engineers), ventilation backssments (in conjunction with ventilation engineers), geological constraints or opportunities (with production geologists), and estimations of economic viability against varying operating parameters.

Assist in yearly production budgets, monthly and quarterly forecasts, manpower budgets, capital budgets, and reconcile forecasts with achievements. Projects range from the simple to very complex and encompass all facets of the operation, from the surface physical plant to underground infrastructure installations.

May include, but not limited to, backfill distribution, utility distribution and improvement, mine pumping and dewatering requirements, muck flow logistics and transport (infrastructure raises, conveyors, rail, skipping, etc. ), process improvements, mine ventilation, and long-term storage for process by-product. Preparation of yearly operating budgets with emphasis on capital

expenditures, the justification of such, and procurement of services required.

Qualifications and Skills: Required: Leadership qualities including character, teamwork, communication, business sense, and vision. Strong computer skills in Auto CAD and Microsoft Office. Basic to Intermediate understanding of MSHA regulations. Proven ability to work within a team-based environment. Working knowledge and understanding of cost and schedule variance. Preferred: Proven Mine Project planning, estimation, procurement, and scheduling experience. Working knowledge with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 scheduling software. Familiarity with rock mechanics and mine ventilation principles.

Proficient use of the Vulcan/Deswik or other 3D mine design planning software packages. Familiarity with cost reporting and cost tracking analysis Education and Experience: Two to five years mine engineering experience.
