As an Automation and Controls Engineer - Manufacturing , you will be responsible for: Being the subject matter expert on the control systems for all the cable processing lines Providing automation support to the Maintenance
department PLC programs and making program adjustments Archiving all digital files in the plant regarding PLCs, HMI screens and drive parameters Updating drawings, photos, and records after making changes to control systems Troubleshooting by using a laptop with PLC software Troubleshooting by using digital meters (Fluke) Occasional project managing of new machines/processes Managing calibration of instruments Fuel your passion To be successful in this role you will: Have a Bachelor's degree, College, or High school Diploma.
Have experience with connecting and scaling instruments to PLCs/controllers/drives. Have experience in Instrumentation and control (I&C) including installation and
troubleshooting. Have knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems and basic electronics Have experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming (500 and 5000 platforms), Siemens programming a plus.
Have experience with PID control loops. Have experience with 480V power for control panels, motors, drives, pumps, chillers, and heaters. Have experience in configuring and wiring variable frequency drives Have knowledge of Auto CAD drafting software Have experience with Ethernet and serial data communications among PLCs/HMIs/Drives. Have experience with protocols such as MODBUS, TCP/IP and Ethernet/IP. Have experience with high level programing software such as Labview. Create/modify/specify BOM and Electrical panel layouts.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on additional projects including: Data collection with IIOT and Industry 4.0 edge devices Data Visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Thought Spot, etc) and Data Science techniques. Analytics and monitoring software such as Grafana Developing and maintaining data collection, predictive maintenance, and machine learning capabilities Serving as the bridge between the digital technology team and the manufacturing facility to bring alignment between facility goals and company-wide programs Communicating the vision for technological advancements across functions and demonstrate benefits to gain acceptance from stake-holders Data storage solutions - OLTP, OLAP, Data Lake, Data Mesh technologies in AWS, Azure, Oracle, or SAP technologies is a plus Driving process improvement using Lean/Six Sigma Desired Characteristics Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with minimum of 5 years of experience Will consider candidate with associates degree and 10 years of relevant experience Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Mechanical experience is a plus Show initiative and ability to work independently Experienced in Project management and cost benefit analysis Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks Strong organizational and decision making skills Demonstrated safe work habits in an industrial environment Work in a way that works for you We recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
