This is semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of the Department of Health in Bay (DOH-Bay).

The incumbent in this position in responsible for the integrity and confidentiality of data sets under his/her control. Performs minor repairs and adjustments to heating/cooling equipment such as changing filters, releasing valves on pressurized tanks, and other moderately complex repairs.

This includes any/all maintenance issues. Incumbent will determine if the issue can be resolved internally or by an outside vendor including the County. Pay Grade Wage-Scale Position Summary Assists skilled workers in performing their assigned duties. May be assigned to one specific task or may be transferred from task to task as a project progresses to completion.

Tasks are generally unskilled manual duties. Tasks and Responsibilities Cleans docks, material bins, sweeps floors, removes trash from storeroom and yard, and works to maintain good housekeeping. Assists warehousemen with loading and unloading materials, issuing and receiving material, and transferring material. Operates forklifts to assist with receiving

and issuing materials and with moving, loading and unloading materials. Assists warehousemen in crating and packaging materials for transfer, shipment and delivery.

Assists warehousemen in marking and classifying materials and restocking, marking and retagging material bins. Pole Yard responsibilities: inspects chain saws and maintains proper maintenance, cleans, marks and cuts poles by size and class, spots for loading and unloading poles, gathers all associated hardware as listed on pole list, maintains clearance of vehicles through the loading zone, assists equipment operator by assuring correct poles are pulled and stacked. Drives storeroom trucks to pick up and deliver material as

required. Ensures that loads are properly secured and within proper weight limits before transportation.

Maintain safe working environment through inspections and safety reports. Other duties as assigned. Manage cardboard baler process to include removing bales, operating baler and associated systems, clearing jams as needed, and minor preventive maintenance. Perform basic repairs to equipment. Assemble and disassemble various types of equipment using basic tools. Tests and inspects safety

harnesses. Painting and minor building repairs, including changing light bulbs, basic plumbing, etc. Completes and maintains maintenance-related logs, documentation related to maintenance actions, parts usage, etc.

Maintain interior floors clean in the warehouse as needed. General labor and housekeeping duties. Maintain exterior grounds as required, including cleaning sidewalks, emptying trash receptacles, equipment cleaning, snow/ice removal, etc. Assists Maintenance Mechanics as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of six months to one year experience in a maintenance environment with demonstrated knowledge and aptitude.

Ability to stand the duration of the shift and work in outside climates.
