BUT NOT REQUIRED. Job Summary: The Structural Dynamics Engineer will serve as a technical contributor responsible for performing flutter and aeroservoelastic analyses.
May also perform other dynamic analyses of vibration, vibro-acoustics, shock response and environment generation. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in aeroelastic analysis with a strong background in structural dynamics modeling as well as the appropriate level of aerodynamics modeling. In addition, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter and will be proactive, forward-thinking, able to work with a small team to rapid resolution of complex technical loads problems and can convey
complex technical problems diplomatically and professionally to both other engineering disciplines and leadership.
The candidate works well in a team environment and forms connections across a myriad of disciplines such as flight controls, mass properties, stress, and mechanism teams. Experience working in the advanced development world and understands the depth of analysis this environment requires would be an advantage. Responsibilities may include: Informing design decisions from the aeroelastic perspective such as sizing of key aircraft effectors, actuation systems, and overall aircraft stiffness requirements Presenting key technical information to other engineering disciplines and management in diplomatic and professional approach Developing of structural dynamics and aerodynamic models of appropriate level of complexity for analysis and level of program Perform aircraft flutter analysis for nominal, parametric, and failure conditions Understanding and following relevant MIL-STDs Collaboration across key disciplines to develop data needed for analyses listed above Position may be filled as a Principal Engineer (level 3) or Senior Principal Engineer (level 4) depending on the qualifications below.
