Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following: Performs assigned, routine visual inspections and other specified tests on raw materials, goods in process, and finished products. Feeds product into machines in an efficient manner to obtain production goals. Tests, inspects, and approves raw materials based on established quality specifications. Uses observation and testing to identify faults in materials and manufacturing process.
Uses statistical methods to test product samples to evaluate quality of full product batch prior to delivery to clients or customers.
Compares results of inspections and tests to company's quality standards; reports results to supervisor for final analysis and action steps. Develops, maintains, and posts logs, charts, and forms detailing quality levels, inspection data, and results of special quality studies for review by line mechanics, supervisors, and other production staff. Consults with supervisor to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questionable products. Maintains quality records as needed. Performs fast paced duties to ensure machines are properly operational.
Performs machine checks to watch for jams. Assists operators with various tasks, including; clean-up. Reports unsafe conditions to the operator or management. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and servicing all production and support equipment within the facility in a safe and efficient manner while ensuring minimal downtime.
This position will work closely with Operations and the Mechanical Maintenance Team to provide maximum facility support. Good knowledge of metallurgy and other materials for fabrication processes. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment including centrifugal pumps, gearboxes, fans, and agitators. Proficiency in burning and welding techniques. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Locating Information, and Reading for Information Work Experience 3-5 years of industrial experience as a first-class millwright.
Excellent teams' skills Understanding of installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment in paper mill or similar industries. Skills: Commitment to safety and quality Computer literacy - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), CMMS systems. Excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to work independently and in a team environment by receiving and completing work orders; gathering tools and supplies to complete the work assigned. Willing to work rotating Shifts and Overtime. Ability to operate mobile equipment including forklifts, mobile and fixed cranes. Physical Requirements Ability to work in a physically intense environment / Ability to lift up to 74 pounds.
