Our responsibilities include system capital investment, regulatory and environmental compliance, planning, asset recapitalization, and long term operations and maintenance. The water and wastewater systems at Fort Sill serve a population of 71,000. We are looking for a dynamic environmental health and safety professional - apply now for immediate consideration! Primary Role Responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and requirements at the facility.

In addition, this technical position will provide trouble shooting and corrective action support to the project operations, maintenance and capital staff. Key Accountabilities Implement, document and provide training on the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety Policies as well as any applicable OSHA requirements. Provide assistance in auditing and ensuring compliance with facility's Load Program, enter work orders into the CMMS utilization of and execution of the CATF program, as well as all site environmental plans. Observe, document, train and provide feedback to MSG staff and third-party vendors as well as contractors performing work at the facility.

Lead all near miss and actual EH&S incidents and accidents analysis and corrective/preventative measures. Perform required H&S inspections, JSO's and OBA's. Routinely perform audits in EH&S areas of maintenance, water and wastewater facilities for regulatory and company policy compliance, prepare audit findings and ensure closure/corrective actions. Assist in the preparation of all permit applications, preparation of regulatory reports, provide monthly EH&S and Compliance reporting.

Provide support, sample validation reports, Lab QA/QC documentation, and interact/reporting (as necessary) with regulatory agencies (approved by manager). Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills Interact with colleagues, direct reports, governmental agencies, consultants, contractors, and the general public. Computer literacy. Competent word processing a spreadsheet programs, and computerized maintenance management systems and process control software. Broad working knowledge of Federal Clean Water Act, NPDES requirements, OSHA standards both 1910 General Industry and 1926 Construction, Safe Drinking Water Act, Clean Air Act, FAR requirements, and other federal, state and local regulations that affect AWE-MSG project operations.

Solid knowledge related to EH&S Compliance management of water and wastewater systems and processes. Knowledge of company procedures, policies, and operations. Knowledge of quality control systems and compliance standards. Knowledge of laboratory processes, procedures and requirements relevant to the water and/or wastewater industry. Knowledge of DOT and SHA practices/policies. Experience/Education High School Diploma or GED is required.

Degree in environmental engineering, chemistry, biology or environmental science, business administration, or other related field is preferred - Applicable EH&S qualifying experience or training will be considered. Minimum of 5 years' experience in water/wastewater industry or related field. Minimum of 1-year experience in water and wastewater industry compliance for environmental, health and safety programs. Work Environment Office/Field 30/70. In addition to American Water's pre-employment screenings, this position requires the ability to pass a Department of Defense background check for access to the military installation.

Certifications and Licenses Industry related EH&S certifications, water and/or wastewater license an advantage. Primary Role Responsible for gathering, producing, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting of Geographic Information System (GIS) data; preparing and updating maps and exhibits with GIS data sets; and using GIS data, applications, and tools to identify and solve problems for the engineering and operations staff.

Utilize GPS to locate and field verify assets. Support asset management through a GIS-centric Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Key Accountabilities Operate computer workstation to create and update maps for internal and external use utilizing latest ESRI software. Convert data collected from field operations into GIS database with proper and accurate spatial location.

Maintain GIS attribute tables from data collected through various sources Assure data consistency with company-wide standards and practices for data conversion and data maintenance in order to provide asset related metrics to decision makers. Interface directly with capital and operations staff to confirm capital improvement projects are documented within the GIS data Coordinate with client to fulfill contractual requirements and requests. Perform routine data validation and QA/QC checks to ensure GIS data integrity. Generate reports and GIS exports to support business needs. Assist with creation, maintenance and utilization of GIS-centric CMMS program through routine coordination with operation staff.

Maintain CMMS program and perform training of CMMS program to staff and employees. Support the asset management program as needed including GIS - CMMS configuration, updating equipment tables and customizing the user interface. Utilize mapping grade GPS to field verify and accurately locate assets and update GIS data accordingly. Configure GPS settings to collect location data within horizontal and vertical tolerance limits and post process GPS data as needed. Continue to develop expertise in GIS and CMMS program.

Participate in workshops, training, or vendor presentations introducing evolving GIS technology, new products and upgrades. Perform other related functions to support the GIS program and other duties as needed. Knowledge/Skills Detail oriented to conduct thorough analyses and evaluations, render and implement timely decisions and recommendations. Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to seek input/feedback and coordinate with other team members. Ability to problem solve and analyze data to identify problems and develop effective solutions and/or input.

Good communications skills. Proficient in use of tablet and handheld electronic devices. Understanding of GIS software, topology/geometric network techniques, data model formats, and data conversion practices. Familiarity with relational databases and working within a SQL enterprise environment. Experience/Education Associate degree or equivalent course work at a technical or vocational school, in geographic information systems, geography, planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, computer science, or a related field.

Includes the collection of wastewater samples per state regulations, performing process control laboratory testing, recording data and preparing regulatory reports, adjusting chemical feed rates, and other similar duties.

Position will also be required to assist with the water collection system on a periodic basis and participate in water and sewer main and service repairs. Key Accountabilities Operates wastewater system (conventional treatment plant, spray irrigation system, lift stations, holding tanks, grease traps, etc. ) to provide compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. Collects and analyzes samples required for compliance and process control.

Performs maintenance of the wastewater systems. Perform assigned general housekeeping duties. Maintains and calibrates hand-held and on-line monitoring equipment and treatment equipment as required. Follows Company's Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies, and report unsafe conditions. Takes and records system operation readings according to prescribed schedules. Maintains daily logs, records plant operating data as required in logs and operations software. Effective, timely, and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and citizen customers.

Assist in repairs of treatment plant equipment, and water and sewer main and service repairs with other project staff. Performs other related functions assigned or as they become apparent or as management assigns. Knowledge/Skills Able to read gauges and meters. Prepare and maintain accurate paperwork such as records, logs, orders, surveys and routine reports as directed. Able to perform accurate mathematical calculations related to this position. Perform standardized water process control, monitoring, and compliance sampling and testing.

Past working knowledge using mechanical skills, for making minor repairs to process equipment, piping, motors, etc Hands-on experience in light duty electrical power systems (240 V/ single and three phase) and instrumentation calibration and use. Some computer skills; MS Word, MS Excel and SCADA systems. Collect wastewater samples for analysis by state lab. Knowledge of the techniques, equipment and materials used in the mechanical maintenance and repair of related equipment and systems. Possesses a thorough knowledge of activated sludge treatment for domestic waste.

Specifically, but not limited to knowledge of methods and precautions in storing and handling chlorine and other industrial chemicals. Knowledge of health and safety regulations. Experience/Education Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Additional trade specific courses preferred. Three years in operation of activated sludge plants preferred. Three years' experience in working in sewage collection systems preferred. Certifications & Licenses Class B Wastewater License highly preferred but a combination of experience and lower license could be considered. Must possess a valid, active state driver's license, CDL preferred and the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.

Work Environmental Employee may be required to work indoor or outdoor work during seasonal heat and cold or other adverse weather conditions. Must be physically able to complete necessary tasks while wearing an approved respirator as required, as some required work may have potential for exposure to harmful contaminants, environments, noise, etc. Must be able to lift 75 pounds, unassisted. There will be some weekend, holiday and overtime work as needed, including on-call assignments. In addition to American Water's pre-employment screenings, this position requires the ability to pass a Department of Defense background check for access to the military installation.
