Job Description A Lab Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day running of a lab, assist in setup and maintenance of lab hardware and group software used by R&D teams.
They will be part of team and be working with internal and external groups, e. g. sustaining, development, test engineers and vendors to create, configure, deploy and maintain systems. A successful candidate must be familiar with Server and Desktop hardware and Windows platforms. Able to develop and maintain
installation scripts. They should have a good understanding of securing systems and networks and be able to work with other IT groups as required. Job Duties Assist in user administration in lab for AD Domains, WIFI and other lab systems.
Support backup of key systems and work with IT to resolve issues. Assist in lab audits by Asset Management group. Support of Antivirus upkeep on key systems. Setup and Maintain Olympus hardware for demos and testing as required. Provide support in the lab by ensuring that systems are correctly configured and are functional, for local and remote staff. Create and support lab environments by assembling and modifying and configuring PCs and configuring
network switches/firewalls where needed. Maintain system environments to ensure the latest versions of the software are used, for testing, development and sustaining.
Job Qualifications Required: BS or AS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline is acceptable. A college degree is not necessarily required for this position. We also value education achieved via work experience, coursework and training, and even self-guided learning. A minimum of 2+ experience in Information Technology or System integration Preferred: Windows System Admin experience preferred. Experience with creating / maintaining secure windows platforms, including WSUS, patching, vulnerability management.
Understanding of networking including VLAN, VPNS and routing of data. Understanding and experience working with hybrid environments, i. e. on-premise and cloud (aws/azure). Windows scripting (creating and maintaining) – Power Shell, VBScript. Understanding and experience with platform virtualization and virtual machine administration. Why join Olympus?
