The Advocate will interact with multiple business units to drive results by executing order fulfillment processes to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, financial and operational objectives. Installs or repairs decks, bulkheads, and tank linings. Prepare and inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using various measuring tools such as micrometer or caliper. Removes rough spots from work piece, using hand tools (i. e. portable grinder, hand file, or scraper). Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment. Ignites torch and adjusts
valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc. Reads and understands blueprints and other construction plans. Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts. Troubleshoots minor issues with equipment and tools.
