Responsibilities Accurately transmits messages between Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients, healthcare providers and clinical support staff. The Interpreter is responsible for sight translation of written materials during the course of an interpreting session only. Focuses on the patient/client as top priority. Qualifications
Successful completion of the language profieciency backssment or current licensure. Must demonstrate fluency in English and the target language with a minimum level of Intermediate - High proficiency based on the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) oral proficiency interview.
A basic understanding of medical protocol and terminology required. Comfortable discussing sensitive or personal issues, and understanding and presenting information of a scientific or technical nature. Ability to interact well with people and work as part of a team.
