Summary In this role, you will provide organizational related support services in a " hands on" collaborative team environment in support of daily business activities. We're looking for talent that has a broad breadth of knowledge and operational experience with US payroll and tax policies. Additional Responsibilities Responsible for weekly
and bi-weekly payroll processing for US business units ensuring accurate hours, earnings, fringes, and deductions according to company guidelines. Collects, coordinates, and enters payroll data and maintains related payroll records.
Assists with payroll funding and balancing. Assists Sr Tax Admin with tax research. Assists Sr Tax Admin with the audit, reconciliation and balancing of all periodic, supplemental, quarterly, and annual tax processing. Serve as subject matter expert to ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws as applicable to withholdings, payment of wages, garnishment, child support and voluntary deductions. Assists with General Ledger entries and
research. Resolve escalated/complex employee issues that require managerial intervention or involve other process areas.
Back up to the payroll team for other pay groups. Responds to and assembles data as needed for various external audits. Sets up, processes, and responds to child support and wage garnishments. Responds to verifications of employment and unemployment notices. Implement process improvements where opportunities for increased efficiencies are discovered. Troubleshoot system issues and call out when necessary. Verify and process employee purchase rebates. Other tasks/functions/projects as assigned. Core elements of the position include: Work focused on designing and/or ensuring compliance with some/all of the following payroll processes including: ---Calculating gross and net pay amounts (e.
g. salary, overtime, shift payments, sales commissions, bonuses, deferred compensation, benefits, tax withholdings, deductions, payroll liabilities, etc. ) ---Payroll tax processing (e. g. new state tax setup, tax audit, balancing and research) Payroll-specific record maintenance (i. e. changes in wage/salary rates; pension, insurance, mandatory deductions; new hires, terminations, leave of absence, etc. ) ---Reconciliation of payroll records (e.
g. payments, deductions, general ledger entries for wages) ---Payroll data verification and administration ---Monitor and manage payroll legislation compliance ---Answering questions from employees and supervisors regarding payroll matters ---May maintain records on vacation, sick leave, etc. Key Qualifications Associate's or applicable college course work preferred. Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a Payroll and Payroll Tax processing position in a large multi-state, multi-company environment. Canada Payroll experience desirable. Workday and Kronos Dimensions experience. Demonstrated Microsoft Office knowledge and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a broader service-center team. Strong communication skills and customer service focus. Exhibit confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.
