Specific Job Duties: Clinical Duties: Ensures the provision of patient care is within standards established by the State Nurse Practice Act and the Division of Youth Services medical policies, procedures, and protocols. Provides initial nursing backssments and triage of requests for health care submitted by youth.
Works in collaboration with medical providers to obtain laboratory and other diagnostic procedures. Administers nursing care and provides the youth education for routine, urgent and emergent medical situations within scope of practice. Makes decisions regarding infectious/communicable diseases, recommends referrals for specialty interventions for identified conditions and recommends supervisory review of complex medical and mental health issues in collaboration with providers and behavioral health specialists.
